I have been self-employed my entire life, and have always believed that I should have a lot of "irons in the fire," in order to keep my work-life interesting, challenging and profitable. However, running a busy law practice, a writing business, a cultural consulting office and an import-export agency, simultaneously, while profitable, was compromising my personal life and my health. As a husband and a father of five, I knew my family needed more of my time, not just my earning potential. With my fortieth birthday looming, I knew that 16 hour days and four blood pressure medications were not things I wanted to be features of my daily life. In the middle of this chaos, I found Laurie.

I desperately needed someone to help me manage my time and my business more efficiently, but I also knew from past experience that training an assistant in-house often cost me more in time and money that it was worth.
